Ingredients
  

  • 18-20 grams fresh espresso coffee (finely ground)
  • 3-4 oz whole milk (or milk alternative)
  • cocoa powder or cinnamon for topping (Optional)

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or Moka pot
  • Milk frother or steam wand
  • 6-8 oz coffee cup
  • Thermometer (optional but recommended)
  • Coffee grinder

Method
 

  1. Grind fresh coffee beans to fine espresso consistency.
  2. Brew espresso shot using espresso machine. Extraction should take 25-30 seconds for 1-1.5 oz of espresso.
  3. Heat milk to 150-155°F (65-68°C) using steam wand. Do not boil.
  4. Froth half the heated milk until thick and creamy with tiny bubbles.
  5. Pour hot espresso into your cup.
  6. Add steamed milk to espresso.
  7. Top with thick milk foam.
  8. Optional: Dust with cocoa powder or cinnamon. Serve immediately.
